Analyzing the effects of compensation on employee performance in the South African healthcare sector

Abstract
The study analysis the effects of compensation on employee performance
in the healthcare sector of Johannesburg, South African. The survey design was
adopted. The purposive sampling technique was used to collect data from 110
employees of selected healthcare employees in Johannesburg, South African. The
Statistical Package for Social Scientists (v20) was employed for the data
analysis. The study’s findings should a significant relationship between the
independent variables (salary, bonuses and appreciation) and the dependent
viable (employee performance) with a beta value of .604, 482 and .602 respectively.
Policy implications for healthcare managers in Johannesburg as well as
suggestions for future studies are presented.
