Abstract
The study investigates the nexus between conflict management styles and
hospital employees’ job performance in Pretoria. Explanatory design was adopted
to achieve the research objectives and to test the hypotheses. The study
adopted the purposive and convenient sampling technique whilst the Yamane
(1967) formula was used to calculate a sample size of 90. The study’s findings
showed a significant positive relationship between conflicts manage
styles such as collaborative, accommodative and compromising and employee job
performance. However, collaborative style was found to be the most significant
with correlation value of .690 followed by accommodative style with a
correlation value of .550 and compromising style a correlation value of .520 at
0.1 confidence level. Recommendations for managers and directions for future
studies have been presented.
