Abstract
Dairying is one of the allied agricultural activities in Chittoor district. In recent times, government has accorded priority to it, due to a number of causes. To bring women equally along with men, in all walks of life, the government has initiated and implemented several programmes for their empowerment since women folk contribute nearly vast of the population. Therefore an attempt is made in this article to assess how far women have psychologically empower through dairying. For this purpose, 250 pourers and 50 palamitras are selected conveniently. Through a structured questionnaire, specially designed for the purpose, data has been collected by personal interview method. It has been analysed with the help of Liker’s three point scale and χ2 test. The result shows that the women have psychologically empowered after entering dairying. The issues examined include self-esteem, self-confidence and motivation of respondents.
