Abstract
The intertwining of cultural heritage and tourism presents significant
opportunities and challenges, particularly in regions like Udaipur district,
India. This paper examines the role of Kasth Kala, a traditional woodcraft, in
sustainable tourism management. Despite its cultural significance, Kasth Kala's
integration into tourism remains limited, impacting artisan livelihoods and
cultural preservation efforts. Through comprehensive analysis, this study
identifies strategies to leverage Kasth Kala for sustainable tourism
development. These include capacity building, market promotion, policy support,
and community engagement. Findings underscore the importance of community
involvement, capacity building, and policy support in enhancing Kasth Kala's
role in tourism. By addressing these factors, Udaipur district can enhance
destination competitiveness, promote cultural authenticity, and ensure economic
resilience. This research contributes to the discourse on sustainable tourism
management and cultural heritage preservation, emphasizing the need for
context-specific strategies to harness the potential of traditional crafts like
