Government schemes and subsidies for MSME financing: Effectiveness and challenges

Abstract
The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector is a cornerstone
of India's economy, contributing significantly to employment, exports, and GDP.
However, the sector faces numerous challenges, particularly regarding access to
financing. This paper examines the effectiveness of government schemes and
subsidies aimed at addressing MSME financing challenges and highlights the
obstacles in their implementation. The paper offers a comprehensive analysis of
major schemes, assesses their impact, and provides recommendations for
enhancing their effectiveness.
