Abstract
Retail investor behaviour for equity
derivative refers to the actions and decisions of the individual investors when
dealing with financial instruments known as equity derivatives. Retail
investors’ behaviour is important in equity derivative market as it influences
the market dynamics. In present scenario, more retail investors are dealing in
equity derivatives due to increase in online trading platforms and it is
impacting the volatility and liquidity in the market. The collective actions of
the retail investors significantly influence price movements of equity
derivative and amplifying trends. The behaviour of retail investors acts as a
key indicator for market sentiments and offers valuable insights to assess the
future market movements. There are so many factors which influence the retail
investors’ behavior towards equity derivative. In the present paper, an attempt
has been made to study the factors affecting retail investors’ behaviour
towards equity derivatives.
